Description

At the School of Earth, Energy & Environmental Sciences, high school students spend the summer working in research laboratories. The students become involved in existing research projects and are supervised directly by graduate students, post docs and lab managers. This program enables graduate students to serve as supervisors, prepares high schools students for college and helps strengthen the connections between Stanford and local high schools. Various programs are available with focuses on: agriculture, biodiversity, geology, and the environment.

Applicant Qualifications

* Must commit to being available from June 14 through August 5, 2016
* Must commit to being safe and abiding by all health and safety rules (I will take the health and safety courses online before the internship begins).
* Must commit to working 15-30 hours per week for at least 7 weeks (depending on the program)
* Must commit to participating in the Wednesday activities so that I can learn about the broad field of Earth and environmental sciences
* Must commit to providing own transportation to/from Stanford University daily
